The invention provides a device for detecting the obstruction in a pipe through which a liquid is in particular to flow in an upstream-downstream direction, comprising a member forming a receptacle 18 having an open end part directed downstream with reference to the direction of flow of the liquid, thin support means 12, 14 arranged to ensure immobilisation of the said member inside the pipe 16, two electrodes 22, 24 mounted in the member forming the receptacle without extending beyond its open end part, means 32 for detecting and measuring the electrical conductivity between the electrodes, and means 34 for sound and/or visual signalling controlled by the said detection means. When there is an obstruction, the liquid does not move in the pipe 16, and enters the receptacle through the bottom, in order thus to give rise to an increase in the conductivity between the electrodes. The detection of this phenomenon actuates the signalling means. <IMAGE>
