The invention relates to an apparatus for treating flowing media, comprising an optionally ceramic assembled body which is provided with flow ducts, the apparatus comprising a plurality of individual elements which has a baseplate with parallel ridges which are arranged on one of its faces at spacings w and are assembled with identical orientation in a three-dimensional arrangement to form an assembled body, the flow ducts being formed by the baseplate and the ridges of adjacent individual elements. The invention further relates to a process for manufacturing the individual elements of the apparatus, these being manufactured transversely to the flow direction in a pressing procedure.
