PURPOSE:To provide an ultrasonic atomizer in which water scale can easily be cleaned by employing a phototransceiver such as infrared photointerrupter and an overturn detecting object which normally interrupts the light but allows its passage when overturned. CONSTITUTION:A phototransceiver 15 consists of a photodiode 15a on the transmitter side and a phototransistor 15b on the receiver side. An overturning detecting object 16 is made up by a hollow spherical body which allows the passage of light with a light passage inhibiting spherical body sealed within the former, but it may take a form of pendulum. It will be acceptable if there is a substantial diference in the condition of the passage of light between the normal and overturned attitudes of the device. The assembly is facilitated if the phototransceiver 15 and overturning detecting object 16 are loaded on a printed circuit board which has an oscillator drivng circuit 6. A thermistor 17 is effectively installed by contacting with or dipping in liquid 1 to be atomized via a thermally conductiv body 18 such as metal. In this manner, an overturning of the device and a proper level of liquid to be atomized can be detected without using a switch having contact points, and water scale is hard to grow and is easy to be cleaned.
