Process for aftertreating dyed textile materials made of polyamides by treating the dyed textile materials with (A) from 2 to 6% by weight of polyhydroxyphenol or of a derivative thereof and then with (B) from 0.5 to 3% by weight of a cationic condensation product obtained by reacting (a) piperazine and derivatives of piperazine with (b) bifunctional crosslinkers, such as epihalohydrin, in a molar ratio from 1:0.5 to 1:1.1 and quaternising the condensation products with benzyl chloride using from 0.15-1.5 mol of benzyl chloride per equivalent of nitrogen in component (a). This aftertreatment serves to improve the water fastness of the dyeings.
