The invention relates to an apparatus for the feeding of textile-yarn tubes to the supply boxes of a horizontal trough container with lateral emptying, the said apparatus containing a laterally limited sliding track for guiding the axially oriented tubes in the longitudinal direction over the container and an endless means of transport, provided with drivers, for displacing the tubes to the location of the individual supply boxes. The object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus of simple construction which works reliably and in a fault-free manner and which makes it possible to feed tubes to the supply boxes irrespective of the emptying of these. According to the invention, the sliding track is formed from two parallel guide rods which are arranged so as to be movable from a position for guiding the yarn tubes into a release position, in which a free space for a tube movement as a result of gravity is obtained between the guide rods.
