A vibration-damping control apparatus for an internal combustion engine and a vibration-damping control method thereof are provided to reduce torque ripple due to irregular intervals of explosion by suppressing the torque ripple of an output shaft when combustion is stopped in a part of cylinders. A vibration-damping control apparatus for an internal combustion engine(1) comprises: a cylinder combustion control unit provisionally stopping the combustion of a part of cylinders of an internal combustion engine and driving the internal combustion engine in the rest of cylinders; A variable valve tool control unit controlling a variable valve tool to reduce valve lift amount among intake or exhaust valves(7,10) of the cylinder in which the combustion is stopped; a rotary transmission unit delivering the torque to an output shaft of the internal combustion engine with having one or more functions among the functions of a generator(22) and an electric motor; and a rotary transmission unit controller controlling a rotary transmission unit to apply torque suppressing the torque ripple of the output shaft to the output shaft while the combustion is provisionally stopped.
