PURPOSE:To reduce deterioration of contrast and sensitivity due to storage by incorporating at least one of tetrazolium compounds and fine oil globules in a hydrophilic colloidal layer. CONSTITUTION:The hydrophilic colloidal layer contains at least one of tetrazolium compounds, preferably, in an amount of 2X10<-4>-2X10<-1>mol per mol of silver halide contained in the silver halide photographic sensitive mate rial, and the fine oil globules, preferably, having an average globule diameter of 0.1-10mum, and as a preferable material of the oil, sodium higher alkyl sul fate, esters of higher fatty acids and higher alcohols, high molecular weight polyethylene glycol, and the like so-called lubricants is useful. Said compound is typified by the formula shown on the right (each of R1, R2, R3 is H, or a group having a negative Hammett's para sigma value (sigmaP), and X<-> is an anion), thus permitting storage stability of contrast and sensitivity to be extremely enhanced. |
