PURPOSE:To ensure high heat sensitivity and enable clear images with excellent gradation expression to be obtained, by incorporating a thermoplastic poly caprolactone into a low melting point substance in a holding material. CONSTITUTION:The low melting point substance in the holding material comprises a thermoplastic polycaprolactone having a recurring structure of formula (I), wherein (n) is the number of recurrence of the recurring unit, and a number average molecular weight of 1,000-100,000. Accordingly, a heat-fusible ink exudes through a microporous structure consisting of a resin, according to the magnitude of heating energy applied to the thermal transfer medium, and is transferred to the surface of a receiving sheet. A transferred image with excellent gradation expression can be obtained by controlling the heating energy used for transfer, and the image thus obtained has favorable preservability. In addition, color images can also be obtained by selecting various dyes. |
