PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure the salinity of sea sand or sea gravel with a reduced measuring error, by using a chloride ion selective electrode. CONSTITUTION:Silver chloride is mixed with a solution of salt adhered to sea sand or sea gravel or an uncured kneaded mixture of sea sand and cement. A bromide ion carried in the solution by sea sand contained in sea water is reacted with silver chloride to be precipitated as silver bromide. After the bromide ion was precipitated by this method, the salinity of the solution of salt adhered to sea sand or kneaded mixture is measured by a chloride ion selective electrode. Therefore, the effect of the bromide ion to the responsive film of the electrode is eliminated and an almost accurate measured result can be obtained. |
