PURPOSE:To change the contents of a memory simply and to obtain a numerical controller including a CRT having high degree of freedom by adopting a non- volatile RAM instead of a character forming memory EPROM to use the RAM as a character memory. CONSTITUTION:In the numerical controller including a CRt controller, the non- volatile RAM(NVRAM) 41 is used as a character forming memory instead of an EPROM. Since the inside of the NVRAM 41 is constituted of SRAM + EE(electrical erasable)PROM, a CPU 1 can read/write data simply from/to the NVRAM and the data in the NVRAM 41 can be rewritten through a CRT screen included in a numerical controller on the basis of a software. After the execution of rewriting, the execution can be confirmed by observing characters displayed on the CRT screen.
