<p>PURPOSE:To produce high-purity electrolytic iron wherein the impurities are suppressed in a minimum limit by providing oppositely both a rotary drum type cathode made of stainless and an anode made of soft steel or pure iron and performing the electroly sis while jetting a support electrolyte aq. soln. on a curved surface of the rotating cathode. CONSTITUTION:Both a rotary drum type cathode which has a horizontal axis and at least curved surface part made of stainless and an anode made of soft steel or pure iron are oppositely provided in a support electrolyte aq. soln. incorporated in an electrolytic cell and the cathode is rotated, and the electrolysis is performed while jetting one part of the above-mentioned support electrolyte aq. soln. on the curved surface of the cathode in the continuous layers in a range over the whole lengths of the cathode. One part of the above-mentioned cathode is positioned above a liquid level or it is completely immersed into the liquid, and the above-mentioned support electrolyte aq. soln. is preferably jetted in high velocity above the liquid level or on the surface of the cathode which is not immersed so deeply from the liquid level. Thereby the impure elements other than the metallic elements such as S, Cl, N, O and H which are mixed to high-purity iron electrodeposited on the surface of the above-mentioned cathode are controlled in a minimum limit.</p> |
