PURPOSE:To facilitate adjustment and also to reduce color aberration by arranging an assistant deflecting device consisting of a pair of coils which can be deflected synchronously with horizontal or vertical deflection on the electron gun side of the deflecting device fitted in the neck region of the color picture tube. CONSTITUTION:An electron beam from three electron guns 23 in a neck region 22 is deflected by a deflecting device 26 which generates a pincushion-shaped horizontally deflected magnetic field and a barrel-shaped vertically deflected magnetic field, and strikes a fluorescent surface 24 formed over the inner surface of a rectangular panel 21, via a shadow mask 25. An assistant deflecting device 30 consisting of a pair of coils which can deflect the electron beam horizontally or vertically in synchronization with the horizontal or vertical deflection of the deflecting machine 26, is arranged on the electron gun side of the deflecting device 26. Thus, by deflecting the electron beam by small amount using the deflecting device 30, adjustment can be done easily even if the sizes of the picture tubes are different, and also mass productivity is improved. |
