PURPOSE:To reduce plating film thickness and to improve corrosion resistance by dipping a material to be plated in a molten zinc bath of a prescribed temp. and then dipping, directly after taken out of the above bath, the above material in a molten zinc-aluminum alloy bath of a prescribed temp. lower than that of the above bath. CONSTITUTION:The material to be plated is dipped in the hot dip talvanizing bath of relatively high temp. of 500-600 deg.C to form a thin and uniform Fe-Zn alloy layer. Subsequently, the above material to be plated is taken out of the above bath and then immediately dipped in the molten zinc-aluminum alloy bath of <=450 deg.C before oxidation as well as sharp temp. reduction of the material take place.d.
