PURPOSE:To make the captioned device to fit for treating various kinds of articles and/or a small quantity of articles by stocking a pallet, on which articles are mounted, to a shelf at the state of multistage and multirow and taking out the pallet to a pallet station through a stacker crane so as to transfer a required number of articles by means of a transfer machine. CONSTITUTION:A pallet P, on which articles are mounted, is supplied to a carry-in station 3 by a forklift or the like so as to stock the articles together with the pallet p on the predetermined shelf body 2 of the stock shelf 1. Then, at the time of delivery, the pallet p is supplied to the specified pallet holding part 8 of the pallet station 6. And, according to a delivery order, the required number of articles W are taken out from a pallet P by a transfer machine so as to be carried out through a conveyor 24. When the pallet P on the holding part 8 becomes empty, the following pallet is taken out. Owing to this constitution, the captioned device is made to fit for treating various kinds of articles and/or a small quantity of article.
