PURPOSE:To obtain a granular lime wherein the effective alkali component is not decreased in the low cost by adding water with slaked lime, kneading and granulating the mixture and mixing quick lime with it to produce slaked lime and thereafter separating slaked lime from the granular powder of slaked lime. CONSTITUTION:About 30% H2O is added to slaked lime and the mixture is granulated in a required size and shape and powdery quick lime of about equiweight is added thereto and mixed and this mixture is incorporated in a tank and allowed to stand for about 24-48hr. Then when it is dried by allowing enough water content of slaked lime to react chemically with quick lime, it is sieved with a shifter to separate the granulated slaked lime from the produced slaked lime and this produced slaked lime is successively used as the raw material. In the above-mentioned method, after granulat ing slaked lime in the above way, the powdery quick lime is mixed thereto and the granular lime is dried by the chemical reaction and therefore, the drying cost is made inexpensive in comparison with a hot air drying method and an installation is not practically necessitated and also the energy consumption is made less. Furthermore since the hot air drying method is not adopted, the decrease of the effective alkali component is not caused and the excellent granular slaked lime can be obtained.
