PURPOSE:To reduce the size and weight of a photographing device on the whole and to easily take a picture with a camera in hands by providing a holding which holds a photographic lens and a photoelectric converting means in one body so that their optical axes are aligned with each other, a rotary support means which supports the holding means rotatably, and a locking means which locks the holding means. CONSTITUTION:The shake of a lens barrel 23 is detected by angular velocity sensors 43 (panning direction) and 44 (tilting direction) and a control circuit 45 supplies electric power to stator windings 33 and 42 of actuators 46 and 47 and performs control so that the outputs of those angular velocity sensors 43 and 44 are zero. Consequently, the shake of the lens barrel on insulation coordinates is eliminated an horizontal and vertical image blurs are reduced. Further, when the camera is carried or when the image blur prevention effect is turned off, a locking switch 50 is turned off and then the control circuit 45 supplies electric power to a motor 52 to move a locking shaft in the direction of an optical axis and locks it. Then, the control circuit 45 powers off the actuators 46 and 47 and motors 52.
