PURPOSE:The titled composition, obtained by reacting a straight-chain urethane- modified epoxy compound prepared by a specific method with an unsaturated acid and dissolving the reaction product in a polymerizable monomer and having improved flexibility and good water, chemical and impact resistance. CONSTITUTION:A composition obtained by reacting first (A) a straight-chain low-molecular weight compound having one epoxy group and one OH group, e.g. glycidol, with (B) a urethane bond-containing compound, having terminal NCO group and obtained from a polyhydroxyl compound and polyisocyanate compound to give a straight-chain modified epoxy compound, reacting the resultant epoxy compound with (A) an unsaturated acid or a mixture thereof with a saturated acid, preferably at 70-100 deg.C to give <=10 acid value and dissolving the resultant resin in (D) a polymerizable monomer, e.g. styrene.
