PURPOSE:To allow even a user who leaves a main body to know a copy state by comparing a necessary copy time with an elapsed time and sending a warning to a detachable indicating means when the difference reaches a specific value. CONSTITUTION:When the quantity of copies is set by a setting means 103, the corresponding necessary copy time is calculated by an arithmetic means 104 and stored temporarily in the storage means 106 of an indicating device 102. When the copying machine body 101 starts copying operation under the command of a copy start command means 105, a timer means 107 begins to clock the elapsed time from the start of the copying operation and a comparing means 108 compares the necessary copy time stored in the storage means 106 with the elapsed time and sends a warning to the indicating means 109 when the difference reaches the specific value. Even after the indicating device 102 is detached from the main body after the start of the copying operation, the indicating device 102 carries on its operation. Therefore, the user who leaves the main body 101 with the indicating device 102 senses the warning and knows the state of the copying operation. |
