PURPOSE:To transmit original data on an image of full size to all facsimile equipments without any data absence by providing a division processing function in a transmission side. CONSTITUTION:Image data on a transmit original 1 is stored in an original data storage circuit 3. A procedure analyzing circuit 14 analyzes an opposite- party procedure signal 20 sent from a circuit for transmission and sends information on the recording paper width of a reception-side facsimile equipment to a control part 16. The control part 16 compares sent original width information 21 from the original data storage circuit 3 with the recording paper width information from the reception side to determine whether or not data should be sent while being divided. When the recording paper of the receiving facsimile equipment is smaller than the transmission original width, image data from the original data storage circuit 3 is sent by a switch 5 to a data division processing circuit 8 and divided, and the divided data are sent to an original data editing circuit 10. When larger, the data need not be divided, so the data is made to by-pass the data division processing circuit 8 through the switch 5 and sent directly to the original data editing circuit 10.
