PURPOSE:To increase the amount of heat collection by retrieving conduction heat in addition to convection heat as well as radiation heat by a method wherein heat collecting fins are contacted with an upper surface plate under pressure, in the heat exchanger for room heating, which is arranged on the upper surface plate of a room heating equipment and retrieving heat from the room heating equipment to supply it to the other external radiator. CONSTITUTION:A heat collecting unit, consisting of a pipe 5, flowing heat medium such as air, water or the like and a multitude of heat collecting fins 6, which retrieve the radiation heat, convection heat and the like from the room heating equipment 1 to transfer the heat to the pipe 5, is provided in the substantially box type case 4 of the heat exchanger 3, whose bottom is opened. The heat collecting fins 6 are provided with supporting plates 7 at both sides thereof and a pressurizing means, such as a spring 8, is provided between the spring supporting section 7a above the supporting plate 7 and the case 4 to contact the lower surface of the heat collecting fins 6 to the upper surface plate 1a of the room heating equipment 1 under pressure. Accordingly, the conduction heat of the upper surface plate 1a may be retrieved through the heat collecting fins 6 in addition to the radiation heat and the convection heat whereby the retrieving amount of waste heat of the heat exchanger may be increased.
