PURPOSE:To improve remarkably the directivity of an antenna and the reception performance by constituting a diversity reception antenna with a high frequency pickup detecting a high frequency surface current and a high frequency pickup provided respectively to an engine hood of the front part of the car body and a trunk lid at the rear part of the car body. CONSTITUTION:The high frequency pickup 38 includes a metallic case 40 shielding external magnetic flux, includes internally a loop antenna 42 to form an electromagnetic coupling pickup. In order to arrange oppositely the loop antenna 42 to the circumference ridge of a retainer 58, an aperture 34a is provided at a part of a rear window frame 34 and a case 40 of the high frequency pickup 38 is inserted and arranged to the aperture 34a. The retainer 58 is separated from the rear window frame 34 by nearly 2 X 10<-3> X wavelength and is made nearly equal to nearly 2-4 wavelength to the UHF band, then the surface current is further apt to be concentrated easily in the band so as to attain highly sensitive reception.
