PURPOSE:To obtain a water current measuring float, especially, a float adapted to the measurement of the water current of a settling pond by providing a vessel in which a weight is packed and a mark bar provided in a cover body of the vessel integrally. CONSTITUTION:A partitioning plate 5 is provided in a vessel 1, and a weight 7 is packed on the partitioning plate 5, and a battery 3 is stored under the partitioning plate 5. A mark bar 6 is provided on a cover body 2 of the vessel 1 integrally and a miniature electric bulb is attached to the front end of the mark bar 6 and is connected to the battery 3 in the lower part to measure the water current even at night. When the float constituted in this manner is used to measure the water current in the settling pond, the quantity of the weight 7 in the vessel 1 is adjusted in consideration of a specific gravity of treated water in the settling pond so that the float is floated in a measuring position. A transit is set in the settling pond for the purpose of following up flow of this float to examine always the motion of the front end of the mark bar provided on the float, thereby measuring the direction or the like of the water current in the settling pond.
