<p>A-21978C cyclic peptide derivs. of fomrula(I) and their salts are new (where R is substd. benzoyl of fomrula (II); R2 is C8-15 alkyl; X=H, C, Br, I, NO2, C1-3 alkyl, OH, C1-3 alkoxy or C1-3 alkylthio; and R1 is H or an amino-protecting gp.). Prepn. is by deacylation of the trytophan amino gp. of A-21978C complex or individual factors(C0-5), then selective benzoylation of the tryptophan residue using an activated deriv. of a suitable benzoic acid. (I) are sueful as antibacterials by oral or parenteral admin.</p> |
