PURPOSE:To convert an L-oxo acid into the corresponding L-amino acid, by transforming a microorganism with a specific recombinant DNA and transferring amino group from an amino donor to a 2-oxo acid using the transformant strain. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism is transformed with a recombinant DNA having a DNA sequence containing rat serine: pyruvic aminotransferase gene. The resultant transformant is then used to transfer amino group from an amino donor to a 2-oxo acid as an amino group receptor to produce the aimed amino acid. Examples of the 2-oxo acid include pyruvic acid, 2-oxo-3-imidazolepropionic acid, etc. Examples of the amino donor include alanine, aspartic acid, asparagine, glutamic acid, glutamine, serine, etc. |
