The component (1) has an endless base plate made of arched segments, which are set together. The arched segments consist of a cold strip, which is supported by cold-rolling and/or recrystallization annealing of a steel band. Endless layers (4a-4c) of the arched segments are connected together in a circumferential direction by a thermally activated adhesive for forming the endless base plate. The adhesive contains phenolic resin or epoxy resin, and is attached as a presolidifed layer on contact surfaces to be connected, of the layers of the segments.
