PURPOSE:To enable to form a recorded image with favorable color forming properties for any ink and excedllent light fastness and favorable water resistance, by using a specified quaternary ammonium salt. CONSTITUTION:A quaternary ammonium salt of the formula, wherein each of R1 and R2 is a residue of a 10-C aliphatic monocarboxylic acid, R2 is 1-4C alkyl, 2-4C hydroxyalkyl or benzyl, and X<-> is an anionic paired ion, is used. The residue is a group obtained by eliminating the carboxyl group from the 10-C monocarboxylic acid, which may be myristic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, semi-hardened rapeseed oil fatty acid, semi-hardened beef tallow fatty acid or chicken fatty acid. A preferred R3 is methyl or ethyl. A preferred X<-> is CH3SO4<->, C2H5SO4<-> or Cl<->. |
