PURPOSE:To lower current density in a common electrode without lowering fixing property of a heating part, enable the heating part to be provided in proximity to an end of an insulating substrate and contrive savings of materials or the like, by a construction wherein the layer thickness of a part of a common electrode at which currents join is set to be larger than that of a signal electrode. CONSTITUTION:A thickness-increasing layer 1' is provided by plating on the common electrode 1 provided by sputtering or the like and then a protective layer 7is provided so as to cover the surfaces of the signal electrode 2, a heating element layer 4 and the common electrode 1 inclusive of the layer 1'. The layer thickness of the layer 1' can be easily set to be several times the layer thickness of the common electrode 1 or the signal electrode 2. A part of the common electrode 1 near the joint to the layer 4 is so shaped that the same current as the current passed through the signal electrode 2 is passed there through, and the thickness-increasing layer 1' is provided at the part at which currents join, whereby the current density in the common electrode 1 can be uniformly reduced without lowering the adhesion of the heating part H. Accordingly, the useful life of the common electrode 1 is prolonged, and the heating part H can be easily provided in proximity to the end of the insulating substrate 5, thereby ensuring easy adhesion thereof to a rough paper. |
