PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform efficient and accurate chamfering by using a pair of grindstones in chamfering such ceramics white-hard as bricks or the like with the position of the back side face of the white-hard regulated while they are conveyed on a conveyor. CONSTITUTION:Being fed to a first finishing section 13 by a conveyor 10, the white-hard W on a table 9 has its position regulated and has the chamfering sections 20 and 20a chamfered by a pair of grindstones 21 and 21a. Then, having its attitude converted 90 deg. horizontally by the pusher 32 on the end of the link 29 of a reversing device 26 through the work shaft 27 of a cam, it is fed to a second finishing section 38 to be chamfered by a pair of grindstones 48 and 48a. At this time, the distance between the grindstones 48 and 48a is regulated in correspondence with the side shapes 39 and 39a of the white-hard W by the action of a cam and connecting rod so that the white-hard W may be chamfered along with its transference just as the shapes. And then, it is finished in a flat surface finishing section by a grindstone and conveyed to the unloading position at the end of the conveyor 10.
