发明名称 RECOGNIZING SYSTEM FOR ON-LINE HANDWRITTEN CHARACTER
摘要 PURPOSE:To attain recognition of hand-written characters written in the running hand by using a virtual stroke for extraction of the points opposite to each other between an input character pattern and a standard pattern and therefore calculating correctly the distance between both patterns. CONSTITUTION:The virtual stroke going to a pen-down point from a pen-up point is extracted for both an input character pattern and a standard pattern stored previously respectively. Then a distance matrix is produced based on the distance between both virtual strokes, and the minimum (maximum) matrix element is detected with all columns (rows) of the distance matrix. The minimum matrix elements of all rows are added together and the total value of the distance between both virtual strokes is obtained. While a section of correspondence is prescribed by the correspondence points adjacent to each other for each pattern among all correspondence points. Then the distance between the corresponding section strokes is calculated between both patterns. The inter-stroke distances are added together among all corresponding sections and therefore the distance between both patterns is obtained. Thus the input character patterns are sorted and recognized by means of both distances (degree of resemblance).
