The shaft (1) has a lock (17,18) for the releasable locking of the sections (15,16) in varying positions. A fixture (2) is provided for the tool at one end of the shaft, and a floor support (3) at the other end. One of the shaft sections (15) has an articulation (21), and that part (15b) of the shaft section nearest to the tool fixture (2) is lowerable from a primary position extended as an extension of the other shaft section (16) to a secondary position extended at right-angles in relation to the other section (16).
