PURPOSE:To simplify the wiring for the signal supply to a plurality of control units to incorporate a logical circuit section into an electronic meter control circuit section. CONSTITUTION:At a detection signal generating section, detectors 20A-20C which generates detection pulse signal Pa-Pc corresponding to the array of a part to be detected formed on a rotary disc 14 are so arranged that there will be a phase difference of 2pi/3 in substance between first and second detection pulse train signals obtained from adjacent two thereof to make detection pulses forming the first and second detection pulse train signals overlap partially. A logical circuit block 28 forms a signal corresponding to the speed or direction of rotation of a rotor on the basis of a plurality of detection pulse train signals obtained from a detection signal generating section, a signal indicating abnormality in detection pulse train signals or the like. This logical circuit block 28 is incorporated into a CPU104 of an electronic meter control circuit section 100 of a vehicle to avoid the duplicated installation by utilizing circuits in the control circuit section 100.
