PURPOSE:To attain the continuation of jobs despite a key trouble by registering and using a substitute key in place of the faulty key. CONSTITUTION:The register mode of a substitute key is designated by a mode setting means 6. The key code pushed by an ordinary application key 1 is read out of a key code storage means 3 and delivered to an interface means 7 and a substitute key code generating means 5 respectively. Here, the means 7 has no actuation. While the means 5 converts the key code into the code of the key to be substituted based on the rule defined inside previously. This code is stored in a storage means 4 for substitute key codes as the key code of a substitute key 2.
