PURPOSE:To elevate color reproductivity and to remarkably enhance light fastness of a magenta dye image by incorporating at least one specified coupler and at least one specified compound. CONSTITUTION:At least one of the magenta couplers represented by formula [I] and at least one of the compounds represented by formula [I] are contained, and in formula [I], Z is a nonmetallic atomic group necessary to form an N- containing substituted hetero ring; X is H or a group to be released by the coupling reaction with the oxidation product of a color developing agent; and R is H or a substituent. Said compound used as the stabilizer of the magenta couplerhas not only an effect of preventing browning of the magenta dye image due to light but also has an effect of preventing discoloration due to light. It is preferred to add both of the coupler and the stabilizer to the same layer, but the stabilizer may be added to the layer adjacent to the layer containing the coupler. |
