<p>1-((4-fluorophenyl)methyl)N- (1-(2-(4-methoxy phenyl) ethyl)4-piperidinyl) 1H-benzimidazol-2-amine of formula (I) is made by (a) reacting 4-amino N-(2-(4-methoxy-phenyl) ethyl)piperidine (II) with 2-chloro 1-((4-fluorophenyl)methyl) 1H-benzimidazole (III) in molar ratio 1:1, in isoamyl alcohol, N-methyl pyrrolidine or cresol in presence of an acid acceptor, e.g. Na2CO3 or triethyl amine, and a catalyst, e.g. CuCl2, CuSO4 or CuO and at 150-230 deg.C and (b) crystallising from ethanol or isopropanol to obtain chemically pure (I).</p> |
