PURPOSE:To store trace information with small buffer capacity by storing the trace information to a main memory device in plural times from a buffer memory by making use of the idle time for transfer of data between channel devices. CONSTITUTION:When a trouble occurs, a buffer memory control circuit 11 stores successively a control instruction address 7a in the 1st buffer memory 12. Then the stored trace information R is stored in the 2nd buffer memory 13. When the memory 13 is filled, the trance information R of the memory 13 is stored in a main memory device 2 by making use of the idle time for transfer of data of a channel controller 4A. After the completion of this storing storing operation, the information R is stored again in the memory 13. Then the following trace information R is stored in the device 2 after the preceding information R when the next storing operation is carried out.
