<p>A composition brake shoe comprising a rigid back plate having an outer convex surface and an inner concave surface, the rigid back plate including a plurality of depressions formed in the back plate, and clusters of openings disposed about and communicating with each of the depressions, a molded brake shoe composition including a heat curable material superposed on the underside of the back plate, the heat curable material disposed in and through each of openings of the clusters and within the depressions associated with each of the clusters thereby to provide ties between the openings associated with each depression whereby the molded brake composition is held in face to face engagement with the back plate.</p> |
