PRODUCTION OF COLOR FILTER

PURPOSE:To obtain a filter having good light transmittance in a visible region and good performance by curing a curable compsn. contg. at least one king selected from a specific polyvalent carboxylic acid and the anhydride of the carboxylic acid to form a color filter and removing unnecessary parts by dry etching. CONSTITUTION:The color filter is formed by curing the curable compsn. contg. the polymer contg. >=60wt% monomer unit derived from the compd. expressed by the formula and 0.1-50pts.wt., by 100pts.wt. said polymer, at least one kind selected from the polyvalent carboxylic acid and the anhydride of the carboxylic acid. The unnecessary parts of the protective layer are removed by dry etching. In the formula, R is a hydrogen atom or lower alkyl group and n is 1-5 integer. The curable compsn. used has no absorption in the visible and near UV region and therefore the color filter having the high transparency in the entire visible region, the protective layer for anti-staining and surface protection and excellent performance is obtd.
