<p>PURPOSE:To simplify both mechanical and electrical constitutions of a position detector by showing the two-dimensional position information in a single voltage value only. CONSTITUTION:A resistor layer 101 consists of an array of thin resistors 100, and the approximately fixed voltage E(V) is impressed to both ends of the resistor layer 101. When the information on a specific position X within a two-dimensional plane is desired, the voltage e(V) at a part R of the resistor 100 nearest the position X is defined as the position information. The two-dimensional plane always corresponds in 1:1 to a certain point of the resistor 100. This correspondence is restored to a voltage value with no dependence on the form of the array of the resistors 100.</p> |
