PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a discharge tube due to the creeping discharge at the end of the metallic electrode of an silent discharge laser device by bending the end of the electrode. CONSTITUTION:An alternating current power source 3 is connected to each of thin, band-shaped metal electrodes 2'a and 2'b closely arranged on the outside of the corresponding tube-shaped discharge tube 1 consisting of a dielectric whereas the each end of them separates from the outside plane of the electrode and machined with curvature in the direction where their bent sections 14a-14h exfoliate from the outside plane of the discharge tube. Thus, the occurrence of creeping discharge is prevented with substantially relaxed electric field at the said end section and the border section of the discharge tube. |
