PURPOSE:To adjust and fix an optical fiber to a joint body independently to all of position parameters without impressing stress to each other by penetrating and inserting the optical fiber into the joint body, fitting the joint body into a holder and disposing the holder in a manner as to enclose an optical semiconductor element. CONSTITUTION:The joint body 7 from which the optical part of the optical fiber 2 is projected is fitted into the holder 6 and in this state the holder 6 is disposed on a header 4 in a manner as to enclose the optical semiconductor element 1. The fiber 2 is adjusted in this state in (x), (y) directions with respect to the element 1 by moving the holder 6 on the header 4. The fiber is then adjusted in a (z) direction by moving the body 7 within the holder 6. The adjustment in theta and phi directions can be further made to a desired angle by turning the body 7. The holder 6 is fixed by adhering, soldering, etc. to the header 4 when the optimum adjustment position is determined and further the body 7 is fixed to the holder 6. |
