PURPOSE:To enhance the separation effect of bubble in the cooling sea water flowed in a communication pipe by connecting the communication pipe to a cyclone in the tangential direction to the circumference and connecting an exhaust pipe on the top of the cyclone. CONSTITUTION:One end of a communication pipe 4 is connected to a sea chest 2, and the other end of the communication pipe 4 is connected to a cyclone 5 so as to be in the tangential direction to the circumference. An air vent pipe 6 is connected on the top of this cyclone 5, and a suction pipe 7 is connected at the bottom. Accordingly, after passing through the communication pipe 4 from the sea chest 2, cooling sea water is introduced into the cyclone 5 in the tangential direction to the circumference, and flows down in the cyclone 5 making a swirling flow. In this case, bubble gathers on the center side of the cylinder of the cyclone 5, and rises in it to be exhausted from an air vent pipe 6. Consequently, even minute bubble can be thoroughly separated and the reduction in the suction performance of a cooling sea water pump 8 can be prevented. |
