PURPOSE:To reduce heat load of a refrigerating cycle and load of an engine as a driving source for the refrigerating cycle, and thereby prevent overheat of the engine, by selecting a selector door to an inside air circulation mode when an engine coolant temperature is increased to a value higher than a set value. CONSTITUTION:When an air conditioner switch is turned on, a compressor 13 is driven by an engine 2, and a fan 11 starts rotating to cool a compartment of an automobile 1. At the same time, a water temperature sensor 4 detects a temperature of water in a radiator 3, and a control unit 21 determines whether or not the water temperature is higher than a set value. When the water temperature is higher than the set value, the unit 21 opens an air valve 19 to the atmosphere. As a result, an actuator 18 loses its vacuum, and a selector door 10 is driven by a return spring 17 to close an outside air inlet opening 9 and thereby select an inside air circulation mode. Accordingly, work load of the compressor 13 and load of the engine may be reduced to thereby achieve an intentional object. |
