PURPOSE:To reconstruct a vessel to install a larger diameter propeller in a low cost, by cutting off the hull upward at the upper portion of the propeller, then reinstalling the rudder stock and the rudder horn formerly used, and connecting an extension to the lower end of the rudder. CONSTITUTION:When a stern is reconstructed to replace the screw propeller 2 in the stern with a larger diameter propeller 8, a portion 12 is cut off to make it possible to install the larger diameter propeller 8 from the upper part of the propeller to the stern, after the propeller 2, the rudder horn 3, the shaft 4, the rudder 5, and the rudder stock 7 are removed. After that, the rudder stock 7 and the rudder horn 3, which are formerly used, are installed again, and an extension 14 is connected to the lower end of the rudder 5. Since the main parts formerly used can be used again after the reconstruction, the whole reconstruction can be performed in a low cost.
