PURPOSE:To obtain a cosmetic having excellent effect to prevent the burning sensation of the sunburnt skin, skin chapping, barber's itch, inflammation, etc., by compounding an extract of a specific plant. CONSTITUTION:The extract of a plant selected from Alpinia genus, Amomum genus, Hedychium genus, Elettaria genus, Curcuma genus and Kaempferia genus is compounded to a cosmetic in an amount of 0.001-10wt%, preferably 0.005-5wt% in terms of dried material based on the whole cosmetic. The extract is produced preferably by extracting the plant with a polar solvent, concentrating the extract, extracting the concentrate with a medium polar or nonpolar solvent and concentrating the extract. |
