PURPOSE:To contrive to lighten a fender device by so designing a gas holder that a force caused by a pressure inside a gas holder and acting on the outside of the side wall of the fender device may not exceed a force caused by a gas pressure and acting on the inside of the side wall over all the period when pressured gas is filled into the gas holder. CONSTITUTION:When supply of pressured gas is continued, a fender device 22 is raised and though a force acting on the inside of a corrugated plate 40 doesn't change, a force acting on the outside of the corrugated plate 40 is reduced. That is, a rise of the fender device 22 causes itself to part from an outer seal 24 gradually toward the upper part of the outside of the corrugated plate 40 and this section comes to be out of application of a gas pressure. Consequently a force acting on the inside of the corrugated plate 40 becomes larger than that acting on the outside. A cylindrical structure is stronger against internal pressure than against external one, so the thickness of the corrugated plate 40 can be made thinner in comparison with any conventional fender device.
