PURPOSE:To operate automatically and continuously a lead frame supplying apparatus without stopping it, by transferring automatically the abnormal number of lead frames put on the placing section to another housing section, and at the same time by transferring the next lead frame to the placing section by an absorbing means. CONSTITUTION:The elevator pushes up lead frames 1 through the use of the cylinder 10, and the cylinder 17 moves the chuck 12 downward. A first absorbing means 12a which is positioned above the frames 1 is evacuated into vacuum to absorb the top one of the frames 1. Next, the chuck is moved sequentially to put the lead frame 1 onto the placing section 5. Thereafter, the same operations are repeated. When the abnormal number of the lead frames 1 are positioned on the placing section, the light emitting device 20a and detecting means 20 detect it and a second absorbing means 12b absorbs the abnormal number of the lead frames 1 and then transfers them to the lead frame housing section 11. Next, the first absorbing section 12a is again positioned above the elevator 3 and the same operations are sequentially repeated.
