PURPOSE:To prevent an ink layer from being transferred onto the back side of a thermal transfer sheet during preservation at high temperature, by providing a resin film comprising a surfactant on the back side of the sheet. CONSTITUTION:The base may be an ordinary one, such as a film of a plastic, e.g., a poyester or a polyimide, and a paper, e.g., a condenser paper, and the thickness of the base may be 1-20mum. An ink composition comprises a low melting point resin and a coloring agent as essential constituents, to which additives such as a softener, a petroleum resin and a surfactant may be added, as required. The resin for forming the protective layer on the back side of the sheet may be selected from a wide range of resins, and is suitably cellulose acetate, cellulose acetate propionate, cellulose acetate butyrate, a copolymeric polyamide, a polyester, an acrylic resin, N-methoxymethylated nylon, a silicone resin or the like. The surfactant having releasability to be used in the resin is preferably a fluoro surfactant. |
