PURPOSE:To calculate an absolute value of a difference of two input signals by the time which is roughly equal to a subtraction time of one subtracting circuit, by providing the first subtracting circuit, the second subtracting circuit and a selecting circuit. CONSTITUTION:In case when a result of arithmetic A-B by the first subtracting circuit is positive, namely, an output line 14-1 is '0', a signal 30 becomes '1', and selecting circuits 25-1-25-N select a value of signal lines 14-1-14-n, and output it to output lines 16-1-16-N. Accordingly, a positive value of the result of arithmetic A-B is obtained in the output lines 16-1-16-N. Next, in case when the result of operation A-B is negative, namely, the output line 14-1 is '1', the output 30 becomes '0', and the selecting circuits 25-1-25-N select a value of signal lines 15-1-15-N, and output it to the output lines 16-1-16-N. Accordingly, the result of arithmetic B-A, namely, a positive value is obtained in the output lines 16-1-16-N, and a desired absolute value of a difference of the first input signal A and the second input signal B can be obtained. |
