PURPOSE:To make a continuous vulcanization in a short time and under an atmospheric pressure possible, by dividing a vulcanization process into two processes which consists of a microwave processing and a conventional vulcanization. CONSTITUTION:An inner rubber tube 11 is extruded on a flexible mandrel 14 and a reinforcing layer 12 is knitted thereon and an outer rubber tube 13 is made to thereon by utilizing an extruder 22. A resin cover 15 is tightly coated on the outer surface of this outer rubber tube 13 by an extruder for resin 23. The resin cover 15 is extrusion-molded with such a resin as Jeflon or polymethylpentane having low microwave loss and good heat resistance. The molding is then passed through a cooling bath 24 and thereafter led into a microwave vulcanization bath 25, where the initial valcanization of the rubber part is carried out by heating selectively the unvulcanized rubber hose under the valcanization temp. The molding is then brought into the next vulcanization bath 26, where the vulcanization of the rubber hose is completed and at the same time the resin cover is softened. The resin cover 15 is thereafter removed by peeling and the mandrel 14 is extracted. |
