PURPOSE:To prevent useless waste of a telephone line charge by providing a circuit recognizing a recording size of an opposite receiver to a G3 facsimile equipment to complete automatically communication when the recording size of the opposite receiver differs from the designation of the operator. CONSTITUTION:A DIS signal is demodulated by a modulator/demodulator circuit 8 via a network control circuit 9 and outputted to a procedure signal reception circuit 6. The procedure signal reception circuit 6 outputs only a recording size signal of an opposite receiver included in the DIS signal to a decision circuit 4 via a signal line 104. The decision circuit 4 compares the switch information (A3) designated by the operator of the G3 facsimile sender with the recording size signal of the opposite receiver from a signal line 104. When the recording size of the opposite receiver is the JIS A3 size, the notice of communication permission is given to a control circuit 5 through the signal line 103 and when the size is other than the JIS A3 size, the notice of communication inhibition is given.
